UPM’s President & CEO Jussi Pesonen elected Chairman of the Finnish Forest Industries Federation

The Board of the Finnish Forest Industries Federation has elected Mr. Jussi Pesonen, the President & CEO of UPM-Kymmene Corporation, as its chairman for 2006. Mr. Kari Jordan, the President & CEO of Metsäliitto Group, and Mr. Kai Korhonen, the Senior Executive Vice President of Stora Enso Corporation, were elected as deputy chairmen.

The Board also elected Mr. Matti Jaakola, the Managing Director of Georgia-Pacific Nordic Oy, Mr. Kalle Kantola, the Managing Director of Haapajärven Ha-Sa Oy, Mr. Jyri Nenonen, the Managing Director of Kinnaskoski Oy, Mr. Sverre Norrgård, the President & CEO of Myllykoski Oyj, and Ms Sari Rämö, the Managing Director of SCA Packaging Finland Oy, to the Executive Committee. Korhonen, Nenonen and Rämö are new members on the Executive Committee.

The annual autumn meeting elected Mr. Jussi Aine, the Managing Director of Puustelli Group Oy, Mr. Kai Korhonen, the Senior Executive Vice President of Stora Enso Corporation, Mr. Aarno Laukkanen, the Managing Director of Stromsdal Oyj, Mr. Risto Mätäsaho, the Managing Director of PRT-Forest Oy, Mr. Jyri Nenonen, the Managing Director of Kinnaskoski Oy, and Mr. Kari Nikkanen, the Assistant Managing Director of Olavi Räsänen Oy as new members of the Board. The number of Board members is 32.

The Finnish Forest Industries Federation’s annual autumn meeting and Board meeting took place on Friday, 18 November in Helsinki.
