”The situation can only be resolved through negotiation. At the moment, salaried employees are the only personnel segment of the paper industry that has not managed to reach an agreement, and their pay rises will thus be postponed well into the spring,” Jari Forss, Deputy Director General of the Finnish Forest Industries Federation says.
The paper industry’s wage earners reached an accord on pay and terms of employment for the second year of their collective labour agreement in mid-March, while negotiations with the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff YTN came to a successful conclusion earlier today.
Both personnel segments agreed to a 2.5% pay rise, which will be divided into a 1.5% general increase and a 1% company-specific amount.
