Biodiversity and wood production are considered of equal importance in modern forest management. The focus is on protecting valuable habitats, on structural diversity and on the variety of species living in the forests. This is done within commercially managed forest areas, which are also used for social purposes, such as collecting berries, hunting and other activities, according to the principles of sustainable use of natural resources.
