Climate and energy

Finnish forest industry is a material and energy efficient refiner of renewable natural resources and the leading producer of renewable energy. Approximately 80 per cent of the electricity consumed by the forest industry is free from carbon dioxide. The new focus of research and development is on biorefineries, the promotion of forest energy and developing the paper and wood products of tomorrow.
