Collective labour agreements and labour legislation
The Association signs the national collective labour agreements concerning the furniture and joinery industries with the labour and employee organizations in the sector. The Association also monitors the observance of collective labour agreements and through them safeguards industrial harmony for its member companies. The Association counsels its members in matters related to the collective labour agreements and labour legislation. The Association also collects information about the pay trends in the sector.
International interests
Negotiations and agreements at EU level concerning wage earners' labour contracts and labour protection issues are becoming common. The Association represents Finnish furniture and joinery industry employers in cooperation with the Confederation of Finnish Industry and Employers in the European employer organization Business Europe.
Furniture Group
The Furniture Group of the Association of Finnish Furniture and Joinery Industries aims to promote the operating conditions for companies manufacturing furniture, to advance the common interests of companies in the sector and to act as a link between the member companies. The Group members include a large number of important Finnish furniture manufacturers.
The Group focuses on:
- Promoting economic and technical development and legislation in the furniture sector by providing statements on related matters
- Participating in domestic, European and international standardization work on furniture sector products
- Exercising and promoting research and development in the furniture sector
- Keeping in touch with the authorities and the media about topical issues in the furniture sector
- Following international trends in the furniture sector.
